Pocketful of Sunshine.  Spreading sunshine to sick children one pillowcase at a time!

My name is Averee Anne and I'm 11 years old.  I'm making pillowcases to give to children that have cancer or any other serious illness.  I want to help give them a lilttle happiness during a time when they are not having many good days.

I started this project when I was nine years old.  I have been making these pillowcases since September 2011.  As of February 2014 I have made 987 pillowcases.

I reached my goal of making 57 pillowcases each month for a year.  That is 684 pillowcases!

I really need your help to continue this project!  If you know how to sew would you please make a pillowcase to give to a sick child?  If you do not know how to sew would you donate some fabric or money to me so I can make more pillowcases?

If you would like to help me please go to the contact page and send me an email.

If you know of a child that has cancer or any serious illness please let me know about them.  I would love to give them a pillowcase!

I would love it if you would like to help me spread sunshine and happiness!  You can send me fabric, pillowcases you have made or money to buy more fabric.  Here is my address

My Pocketful of Sunshine Quilt

This is my very first quilt that I have made.  It is made with scraps from the fabric used to make my pillowcases.   It has pink fabric on the back and is quilted with hearts on it.  It is a queen size so I can use it when I get older too. I made this quilt the first year of my project.
